THE BIBLE
The Bible is God’s Word to all people. It was written by human authors under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

THE TRINITY
God has existed in relationship with Himself for all eternity. He exists as one substance in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Although each member of the Trinity serves different functions, they each possess equal power and authority.

GOD
God is the creator. He is great: He is all-powerful, all-knowing, ever-present, unchanging, completely worthy of our trust, and above all, holy. It is in Him that we live, move, and exist. God is good: He is our Father. He is loving, compassionate, and faithful to His people and His promises.

JESUS

is completely human but, at the same time, completely God. The Holy Spirit in the virgin, Mary, created him. He lived a perfect life and was used as a human sacrifice for our sins.

HOLY SPIRIT
His presence assures us of our relationship with Christ. He guides believers into all truth and exalts Christ. He convicts people of their sins. He comforts us, gives us spiritual gifts, and makes us more like Christ.

MAN
Man is referred to as a man or woman. Man is God's prize possession. Man is made in the image of God and is the supreme object of His creation. The man was created to have fellowship with God but became separated in that relationship through sinful disobedience.

REPENTENCE/ REPENT
Repentance is a commitment to turn away from sin in every area of our lives and to follow Christ. Through repentance, we individually receive forgiveness of sins and appropriate salvation.

SALVATION/ SAVED
The blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the only way of salvation through the forgiveness of sin. Salvation occurs when people place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin. Salvation is a gift given through the grace of God, and it cannot be earned through our own efforts.

PRAYER
Prayer is our ability to communicate with God. Through Jesus’ salvation, we no longer need an intercessor to go between God and us; we can address Him directly.

BAPTISM
Baptism is a symbolic act to publicly profess one’s salvation. God commands it, but our salvation is not reliant upon it. We practice full-immersion baptism, symbolizing the process of death and resurrection that Jesus went through for us.

COMMUNION

Communion (The Lord’s Supper) is a unique time when the elements of bread and juice express, in a spiritual way, the body and blood of Christ. Communion is taken by believers in remembrance of Christ’s sacrifice on the cross.

ETERNAL LIFE/ EVERLASTING LIFE
Man was created to exist forever. He will exist either eternally separated from God by sin or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is Heaven. Heaven and Hell are places of eternal existence.

First Emmanuel offers love and support but most importantly Christian education. We want you to have a relationship with God; meaning communicating with him through worship, prayer, and scripture. We want you to learn more about what God has done for us. Take your time and look at our resources about salvation.

What is Salvation? What does it mean to be saved? What does it mean to want eternal life? We cannot save ourselves; we need a Savior. Jesus is our savior he has saved us from damnation. When we want eternal life, we accept Jesus as our savior to one day live forever with Him.

We can all do good things and attend religious services, but none of these things can save us.

"Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven." (Matthew 7: 21 KJV)

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven." (Matthew 7:21 NIV)

Jesus have saved everyone by Grace.

"

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God" (Ephesians 2:8 KJV)

“For it is by GRACE you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God”
(Ephesians 2:8 NIV).

So how do you become saved?

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." (Romans 10:9 KJV)

"If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." (Romans 10:9 NIV)

3 easy steps:

  • Repent of your sins

  • Confess with your mouth and believe in your heart

  • You are saved!

The process of getting saved is the first step. The second step is announcing your new-found relationship with God to everyone you know by water baptism. To know more about water baptism read below.

Water Baptism is the physical expression of your belief in God. You emerge into water. By getting baptized, you profess to the world that Jesus is your savior and you believe that God sent Him to died on the cross for our sins. We are essentially washing away our old life and stepping into a new life.

The last thing Jesus told His disciples was, “Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost." (Matthew 28:19 KJV)

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." (Matthew 28:19 NIV)

Jesus, himself, was baptized. (Luke 3:21–22)
